What Are Your Most Used Words?

Originally Published November 19, 2015

Right now there’s a popular app going around Facebook that gives you a word cloud of the words you use most in your statuses. Many people have the names of their loved ones or the words love, joy, or happiness at the forefront. We typically portray ourselves to be happy people on social media but what would your reality word cloud look like?

Would it look like this:

What if you could make a word cloud about the words you say every day, the feelings you have, or the thoughts that run through your mind. Would these be overall positive or negative? Would you be proud enough to share those word clouds with all of your friends on social media? As hate and fear run rampant in our world, are you being the light that God has called you to be? Do you act out of hate, jealousy, and fear or out of love, faith, and hope?

Proverbs 17:28 says:

Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.

Would the words you speak deem you wise or a fool? Do your words glorify God or speak hate? This verse reminds me of something I tell my kiddos, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

Luke 6:45 says:

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

What is your heart full of? Do you allow negative thoughts to creep into your heart? Your mouth can only pretend for so long, eventually it will spew the thoughts of your heart. So take your thoughts captive as instructed in 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Philippians 4:8 says:

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.

Today work on thinking and meditating on the positive. Then your actions, words, thoughts, and attitude will definitely be worthy of a Facebook status.

With Love & Light,

P.S. Below is my personal word cloud generated for me, looks like ilybox is something that’s been heavy on my tongue this year!
